Heater valve
Hello Im from Denmark .
I have a 1961 Mercedes 220SE coupe . When I try to get heat in the cabin , the heater valve is verry difficult to open . Is there a simple fix to get the valve to open/close smoothly ? Michael |

Hi Michael,
Welcome to the forum! Your fix is simple, but not easy. You will have to take it apart and remove the calcium build up and then coat the valve with something like lithium grease so it operates smoothly. This is a chore that I will have to do eventually on my car. Luckily, it is spring time in Texas and I have warm weather until next Christmas. If you do a search from the main page on "heater valve" you might find some posts from others who fixed this. Maybe someone has pictures too? Show us a picture of your coupe? We love pictures!!
