Too rough for restoration
W109 6.3 ...
Looks a little "too" rough to handle ... any views? Some concern over black and white pictures versus all color ... Thanks in advance. |

My initial thoughts ... and my 90% leanings right now. My 54 Packard convertible was in about the same boat, but that was 25 years ago. lol

Time and $$$, if you have unlimited supply of both, go for it.

A brillo pad and some rustoleum will make it like new.

Where are the door handles even? Does it have a windshield? I don't see one, just dirt from the other windows appears visible. Headliner's shot, clearly. The body, well, the pictures speak for themselves. Engine and driveline for parts only and even then who knows what, if anything, would be good in either.

Yes, I thought the no windshield odd also. And, the black and white photos mixed with the color ones ... I suspect the B&W would hide the mold growing on the inside since I suspect it was sitting outside forever. Seller told me this was his "project" and apparently it got away from him. Here are some other photo's. I find it odd that the trunk badge was cut off from the one snappie. If anything, I would have that in the photo.

Concentrate on recent acquisition of the 240D in time and money, getting it mint.
Shopping around is very tempting if you have time, money, space, and the ability to make it through the restoration successfully in time and money. At least that's my criterion punchlist. |

In this case, pictures mean near nothing, you have to look at the car in person.
Also, make a decision on what the car is not what the seller says it is. I've seen too many instances where an ill informed buyer takes the word of an ill informed seller. Lack of knowledge on both parties parts leads to a deal gone bad with both blaming each other when the onus really falls on the buyer to make a final decision. |

Turn it into a 'derelict' - modern underpinnings under decayed bodywork.
Icon, known for their updated Land Cruisers, has the following product line which is the coolest. Certainly not cheap. ICON4x4 • DERELICT |
