450slc

Just picked up a 73 450 slc. Hasn't been out of the garage in 4 years. I own a couple of diesel sedans but no gas burners. Can't seem to find much info on the car on the net. Any info would be appreciated. The car is gold colored with camel interior.

Try these search terms in the PeachParts forums (and elsewhere on the web):

For chassis information: R107 & C107 (the SLC is a C107 which is a variant of the R107)

For engine info: M117, D-Jetronic (aka, djet)

For transmission info: 722.0xx

Thanks. I look forward to restoring it. Heard you can make them pretty fast.

I have a 72 gold colored 350SL (really a 450SL except for badge) as well as a W123 diesel. Some info on 107s here on Vintage and in SL forum below, but more here.

Your car, as Frank mentioned, has D-jetronic electronic fuel injection. It is a thing of it's own! Only used on the 107 from 1971-1975 but also on some MB sedans of that era. It was also used on VWs, Porsches, Volvos and several other Euro makes. Not many mechanics left that know much about the system!

There is a Djet section on this page - scroll down till you find it.

MBUSA have the shop manuals on-line. 107 manual is here: http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/outside/11883/?requestedDocId=11883

Good Luck with the new car!
