Accessing AC vents on a w108

I need to clean the AC vents on my w108. How do I best access these vents? Thanks in advance for any insights.

The intakes on the outside? Open the hood, and unscrew the trim piece. Discover that there are remnants of 2 filters there. Use a vacuum. The interior vents I've never bothered with.

Thanks, but I was actually thinking of the interior vents below the dash. Is there a good way to access them?

Tou have to remove the lower dash panel. Not too difficult, but ackward as are all under dash operations.
You will find that the foam that Mercedes used to seal the AC plenums has completely disintegrated and should be replaced to insure that all the conditioned air comes out the vents and doesn't get lost under the dash. The foam that Mercedes used in this and at least the next generation of cars chemically breaks down over time and literally turns to dust. Check out your "B" pillars, for example. They originally felt cushioned to the touch; now they will feel a bit loose and flabby.

Thanks. Is there photo essay anywhere showing how to remove lower dash panel?

I have loose debris inside vent, could it be possible to vacuum this out from under the hood?

Thanks again.

There's an access panel secured by one screw beneath the blower and temp switches. You can remove the switches if more access is needed.

No, the A/C fan is in the passenger footwell and draws air from the passenger compartment.

So I cannot access these vents by vacuum anywhere below hood?
