M117 timing cover oil cooler question

Parts of my project are scattered in 3 different locations and I cannot verify my timing cover. is the timing cover different on cars that did not have an oil cooler? I don't have any pictures. I know the connection is on the timing cover but not sure if it's plugged or just not there on cars without a cooler.

Tony:

Two aluminum block M116/117 timing covers surveyed have plugs in the "oil-out-to-cooler" location.
The oil filter bases, however, are only cast for a return fitting, not machined & plugged.

Mystery solved-I saw the engine today and it has the ports on the block and cover. Reason I was concerned I got the block decked with the cover on it (so they were matched)and then I could not remember if the engine came from a oil cooler car. I think they all have the connections for oil cooler.
