Colour coded wiring diagram?

Hi,

I'm chasing an electrical issue with my car (w111 280se 3.5 euro coupe 1971). I have a factory wiring diagram, but oddly it has no wiring colours on it. Does such a wiring diagram exist? It would be incredibly helpful. Thanks.

Dave

If it's a factory diagram, although not colorized, it should have the respective wire sizes as well as their identifying markings stated for every application. Look carefully along any wire run to find a number with one or two letters following - that is your wire size and coloring code. Factory diagrams will also contain a table explaining the abbreviations used in the coloring code.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried to attach a partial pic of what I have..I don't see any wire sizes or markings.

Try a Google search for W111 280se wiring diagram using Images.

There may be more, but this one cropped up for a 280SE 3.5: (Hard to read, but you can see the line designations EJBoyd was talking about.

Thanks. That looks great. Looks like it comes from a supplement that I should be able to find.
