Adhesive for cast iron fuel distributor?

I recently rebuilded my cast iron fuel distributor, but I'm having problems keeping the thing from leaking. All the adhesives that I've tried got dissolved in a matter of weeks.
So far I tried:
-Loctite 567
-Loctite 518
-Loctite 277

Does anyone have any suggestions of good sealants?

PS: the gasoline around here has quite a lot of ethanol too, which I suspect dissolves most common adhesives.

I'd expect there to be o rings or similar keeping it sealed up.

There isn't much in the way of sealers that will stand up to gasoline with ethanol or not. For flat machined surfaces, Permatex Set and Seal works but I don't know if it will resist gasoline since it is mostly an engine oil sealer.

97 SL320: On the cast iron FD the membrane that separates the two halves is metallic, and needs to be sealed. This in contrast to the aluminium ones, where the membrane is rubber and doesn't require any sealant.

I have no idea how they did it in the factory though.

Loctite 515.

Dubyagee: do you have a first hand experience with it? I just checked the technical data sheet for it and it states that the product degrades a lot on the presence of gasoline.

On an older machine work, we use the 515 on pipe thread hydraulic fittings, works great.

I'd want to see a material comparability chart showing gasoline though.

Doesn't like gasoline...

Ive never seen it fail in various liquids and pressures.

This may be what your after.

Thanks Dubyagee.
I'm gonna give it a try.
I also found this Loctite 1114. Looks like it is similar to the Permatex one.
I'll try them both and report.

So I finally got the fuel distributor properly sealed. Turns out it wasn't the adhesive that was the problem, it was the surface of the fuel distributor: it was a bit convex.
I used a 400 grit sandpaper and a flat glass to sand it down flat again. Problem solved.
In the end, I went with the Loctite 277.

It's awesome when the Universe comes together.
Good job!
