URGENT QUESTION on 722.119

Hi All,

I'm bying a second hands tranny in Germany for my MB W123 M115938 2.0L 94 HP of 1978. It has originally the 722.115 and since we bought it on 1982 the gears seems to be too short.

Now, I found a 722.119 that is originally for the same car but for 2.3L (W123 2.3L rack 123.023.

What's the differents between 722.115 and 722.119?

Do you think the gears are a little bit longer?

Do you know if they're swappable?

Please is urgent.

Thanks

I would want to know that the housing is an identical part number before attempting the swap. You can get the trans housing part number from the EPC.

Hi Fonzi, yes they're the same....token from:

for the 230
Mercedes-Benz Teilekatalog (Ersatzteile online)

But I don't know the gear ratio

If you can identify which cars these transmissions are used in, then you can go to automobile-catalog.com which seems to be pretty reliable. They have gear ratios there. I don't know if the EPC lists the gear ratios.

Yeaa, it works perfectly...I saw the ratio and it is a little bit different.
Yes, I proceed with the 722.119.

Thanks

The 722.115 & 722.119 have identical gear ratios. And they have identical internal construction. But a little different shifting points and pressure settings. And have also different valve bodies.
