You are quite correct; the adjustment of control pressure affects the shift points of all of the gear changes simultaneously.
The only other adjustments of linkages are those between the throttle pedal and the injection pump; which is why the first instruction in the control pressure sequence was to disconnect the control pressure & insure that he pump is on the WOT stop as the pedal reaches the KD switch.
To generalize, the control pressure rod moves the shift point, and the pressure regulator makes the shift quality firmer or softer.
