Website or free manual for 1970 W114 250C and driver interior door handle
Happy New Year's Everyone,
My door handle broke on interior driver's side. I'm looking to find a replacement and am not having luck. I've went to Authentic Classics and, while the price is not bad compared to some i've ran across, shipping cost of $19 is pretty steep. This puts it out of what I currently can afford. I've read some sketchy things about them too but not tried them yet myself. Does anyone know where you can get a used one or new one that's reasonable? eBay doesn't have any the last few times I checked. Also, i'm trying to be as specific as I can when I order parts so where does one find part numbers for the model? Thanks! |

I don't know if the coupe is different from the sedan, but there are several w114/w115 interior door handles on ebay right now for $20 and up.
Regarding a manual, this might be helpful: Mercedes-Benz Model 114/115 Good luck.

Replacing the interior door handle is simple. There are only a few bolts to undo and one hole in which to slip the door latch rod.
It is removing the door card that is tough. Only not so tough once you have done one. Rather than going through the whole routine here just do a search on how to removed the door card/panel. The big trick is to rotate the card up and to the left in order to line up the plastic tab in the door pocket. Otherwise you will break the tab holding the door pocket to the door. But removing the door panel is easy once you know how. And then replacing the interior door handle is even easier. I don't think there is any difference in the door handles of the Coupe and the Sedan. The length of the activation rods is different because the length of the door is different. |

Sorry I've been out with the stinking flu. Thanks for the help guys.
I've (possibly) found one but not on eBay. I scour that place frequently and have yet to find one Shorts so I must've missed them. I knew about the address for the russian site. I've went to it before but I've been afraid to go there often cuz of potential viruses. Never got one there but i'm VERY leery of sites outside the US (& here as well) but I did go there and got the number. Idle, the panel is already off and yes you're correct it can be a hassle to remove if you have not done one. This was my first but i took my time and no issues. VR, mercifiknow |

Ordered one from ReInvent the Wheel. Not too bad of a price either. Thanks everyone!

Classic Mercedes enthusiasts often recommend forums like Benzworld.org or forums.mercedesclub.org for used parts or leads. Haynes or Chilton repair manuals might contain part numbers, though finding free PDFs online can be unreliable. Consider local scrapyards or Facebook groups specific to your model. Lastly, don't rule out Authentic Classics entirely; compare their landed cost to other options and factor in return policies before making a final decision. Good luck!
