76 280C..Fr. pass. window will not go up, rear driver's will not go down..

This occurred at the same time. Coincidence?
Where are my window fuses. Are they in the usual driver's side long case? In the legend I didn't see that any of the fuses in there were window fuses. I figure fuses would be the first thing to check.

Window fuses are in separate blocks on the right side of firewall adjacent to the A/C dryer.
Windows are connected diagonally: LF/RR, RF/LR.

FWIW the window switches tend to fail and could fail in that manner. For the REAR window, will it not go down with either switch?

I opened up all of the three blocks on the passenger side by the firewall location. There were no broken/open fuses, regardless of that, I replaced all of them with new ones......my windows work now.

Thanks everybody.

Hopefully you used the copper fuses and not the aluminum. A dab of dielectric grease is a decent corrosion preventive/inhibitor.

A quick scrub with a vinegar-salt solution will clean the fuse receivers.

Glad to hear. Generally speaking if front and back windows go out on opposite sides, it is the fuse. Same with my '81 300SD and not sure how long MB kept making them that way.

Gotta try this. I will replace all my fuses EVERYWHERE.

Thanks.
