Diff Prob
Hi people, I just finished an engine swap in a 450slc with a SBC. Unfortunately the diff cant handle the power, does anyone have any suggestions?

A 6.9 put out 286 hp and 405 foot pounds of torque. These pop up for sale now and then and would be a direct bolt in replacement.
They are also limited-slip. I've done a few of these. It is really not hard if you have a simple hydraulic jack to lift up the differential to steady it while you bolt it in. I don't know if a 126 differential would work. Perhaps someone with an interchange book can tell you? |

Where are you located. There is a parts car available in Reading, PA (mine).

thanks for reply
Hi Dude, thanks for your reply. I am running a trans with 3000high stall. but sorry I didn't tell you I've changed the diff and are using an earlier diff out an earlier merc because I want to run lower gears ( 3.63 ratio). The reason why I did this because Mercedes never released the 450slc in Australia with low gears. The only V8 gears in Australia are 3.08 ratio.
