1971 280se timing chain parts list
 

hello.. I am planning on having timing chain service. Does anyone have a parts list for the complete job? please share your knowledge. Thank you.

1971 280SE 6 cylinder M130 engine

000-997-69-94 - chain
130-050-03-11 - chain tensioner
121-052-03-01 - cam gear
123-052-01-16 - 2-hole chain guide
115-052-04-16 - long chain guide

List above was for my 280s, might want to verify the parts numbers with Classic Center to be on the safe side.

My preference would be a crimp style master link from the same manufacturer as the chain vs a clip type. The chain crimp tool does an excellent job. If the shop doesn't have a crimp tool then you'll have to use clips.

Good time to do a valve adjustment.

Use a genuine MBZ valve cover gasket.
