Cam specs for a M110?

Looking for the cam specs on a set of M110 cams. #74 (intake) and #78 (exhaust) markings.

Donor engine was a '80 280SE with D-Jetronic. Seems odd because I was under the impression by 1980 MotherBenz had gone to K-Jet but I've been wrong before.

Looking to convert the TBI on my '74 to multi-port injection and I need to decide just what the valve/cams change will do to driveabilty. The engine in my car was originally from a carbed 280S so I know the drop in compression will be a factor if there is a large difference in lift/duration.

MD:

Timing is measured @ 2mm valve lift. (for the followers in that engine, that is roughly equivalent to .050" at the lobe)

#74 (intake) > opens 7 deg ATDC, closes 21 deg ABDC
#78 (exhaust)> opens 30 BBDC, closes 12 BTDC

The last D-jet was 1976. 1977 280E (123), & 280SE (116) were K-jet, at least in the USA. If your 280S was from a '75 or '76 the cams are the same.

Sorry, should have specified the M110 head I have came from a definite "Euro" model. I hope to have the original engine number soon. I forgot to get it when I pulled the head.

It has the domed pistons so it is the higher compression engine. I'm pretty sure the M110 currently in my car is the U.S. model so it doesn't have the higher compression pistons.

Mayhaps I am confused regarding the D-Jet. The injectors have an electrical connection leading to each one but the fuel distributor looks like a standard K-jet.

Mike, in post #4 of the thread that you cite above, the injectors can be seen with the steel pipes from the FD attached to them! Standard K-jet.

Yeah, that's what I thought but what is with the electrical connections on the injectors themselves?

They are not shown in the pics but each injector had a standard Bosch stye plug. Definitely OEM.

Doesn't really matter since I am building a fuel rail and converting to more modern injectors anyway. Just curious.

On a K-Jet there is a cold start injector that has an electrical connector, since the cold start enrichment is controlled by a temperature sensor. The rest of the injectors are purely mechanical.

You gents were right concerning the K-Jet. My short term memory must be fading. Squiggle Dog sent me some pics of the injectors we pulled and they are indeed the standard K-Jet injectors.

On the positive side, plain old EV1 (Denso) injectors are a "drop in" fit. Just need to fab up a fuel rail, add in a FP regulator, sort out a TPS and I'll be in business.

Of course I'll need to attend to a couple of minor details such as swapping out the head and cams.

If it makes any difference, after seeing most of the parts on the donor car having 1977 and 1978 manufacture dates and being the car was imported into the USA and restored at one point, I have a feeling this car was actually built in 1978 and someone changed the year of the car on the title to 1980. There isn't even a VIN plate on the car except for some home-made tag that was riveted to the dashboard speaker, so who knows if the VIN number on the title is even the one the car was built with.
