W114 coupe and sedan differences

I just got my first two w114's. What is the same and different body wise? Floors? Front fenders, grill ? Headlight tailight? The sedan is a completely stripped 220d(yes technically a w115) manual shell I got for the all the manual stuff(mostly the pedals) so I don't have the body parts and lights to compare. The coupe is missing a bunch of trim and a tailight housing. Both lenses are broken. No grill.

The 114/115 sedan and the coupe are built on a common wheelbase, and are mechanically the same within a sales designation (280 & 280C, etc.). Forward of the front seats all is the same with the exception of the windshield; the coupe has a lower roofline and a shorter windshield.

Roof, all glass, and doors are different. Everything behind the C-pillar is different, everything in front of the A-pillar is the same. Not sure on the floors. Having said that, there are early and late 114s. Some early 114 sedan stuff isn't going to fit a late 114 coupe and vice-versa (tail lights are a good example - just a different style).

Coupe chrome trim is different from the fenders back. All the seating is different including the seat belt restraints.

Boot lids are the same, floor pans also.

You sure about that? My recollection was that my 114 coupe had a really long trunk lid... I think they are different but can't say 100% for sure.

Thanks everyone, All good news. So the tailights are the same coupe and sedan, and they are swapable late and early? Is the inner tailight housing structure the same all years? I only got one with the car. The Mercedes nos floor pans I found the guy want 1000$ for so that's not happening. $80 for a fender seems fair right?

The light buckets swap between years but the lenses are different after mid-'73. Later /eight lenses are the "ladder" style and will not fit into the early style buckets.

The lenses differ between the years cosmetically, amber-red-clear combos but the fitment is the same.

The front seats are different in both the seat bottom and seat back. The seat backs have the levers on them to release the seat back so it will move forward.

The bottom springs are different in that they have a notch in them that contains a vacuum lock that prevents the seats from being moved forward when the engine is running or when the doors are locked.

The true reason for them being there is to keep the seat back from slamming forward during a quick stop. Of course the driver's seat will not fly forward but the passenger seat would and by putting these vacuum locks on both sides it makes it easier for Mercedes to build right and left hand drive cars.

This is important to know if you are trying to find a set of seat springs to rebuild your seats. Only springs from a coupe will work.

I would think the window regulators would be different but I don't know for sure. I know they are different on the 111 coupe from the 111 sedan.

As Idle pointed out the seat bottom frames are different but the seat and upright pads interchange.

The locking mechanism is a hook/vacuum diaphragm which is an integral part of the hinge assembly and needs to be swapped. I might be "mis-remembering" but I believe the upright portion (seat back) will swap over.

The rear seats are a whole different animal and nothing swaps.

Yes the coupes of w111 and 114 chassis are pillarless and the regulator supports the window without the window frame. Totally different than a sedan.
