32NDIX leather accel pump diaphragm on 35/40?
Hi group! Wrapping up the rebuild on my Zenith 35/40's from my 1970 250 automatic. I am not happy with the reliability and performance of my accelerator pumps with the neoprene replacements as they get stuck often. My front carb does have some wear in the pump tube (a raised ring about halfway down) and I am trying to sand it down but may have to have it machined or find a better condition jet block. Either way, has anyone tried the 32NDIX diaphragms (pic attached from 60-inch) as an alternative to the blue neoprene ones that come in the Walker kits?
Thanks much! Edmund |

Ah, I just made peace with the neoprene diaphragms.
Two things. First, my Wife pointed out that the ridge is supposed to be there in the cylinder so I gave up trying to dremel it out, yikes! Second. I just realized that the buttons on the bottom of the accelerator pumps pop off, so I can easy replace the seals and now they are centered and cinched tight. I would prefer the leather so I am going to order a few anyway just to try out. Thanks, Edmund |
