W114 W115 NLA Parts Thread: Not available in the EU/ Special order or OEM options
Sadly, several key parts are increasingly NLA from Mercedes Benz. Thought I'd post the Part #s with options for others who, like me, are wondering what best options remain. My car is a 76 240D.
Thoughts on better OEM options welcome -if you'd like to help fellow owners like myself, please post other NLA parts I've missed in the same format (Description -> Part # -> Alternative Part with purchase link) 1) Radiator A1145011101 Special Order from MB 2) Oil Cooler A1081800265 Special Order from MB 3) Heater Blower A1158350207 Special Order from MB 4) Centre Exhaust A1154900115 Special Order from MB 5) Front Sub Frame Mount Kit 1153301875 Meyle Aftermarket Option (Guessing they're better than Febi?)

Perhaps a silly question but did you try your dealership? I got the the Front Sub Frame Mount Kit from mine about a year ago and they did not indicate any issue with availability.
I've only replaced with genuine MB parts and have not had issue so far with availability. Only one I cheaped out on was the transmission mount, where a genuine part was around $350. Here's an NLA part as far as I'm aware: good quality loop style glow plugs. The Bosch Made in India ones are total garbage; they short out and can kill your circuitry. Luckily my relay saved me and I found a lot (12!) of NOS Made in France glow plugs on eBay for less than I paid for the garbage ones. NOS ones start my car so faster than the others ever did. One kind of part I haven't seen, however, are the rubber seals around the door windows, or the rubber trim on the outside of the car. Would like to get my hands on some new MB parts for those. I'd need to look up the part numbers; I just don't have time at the moment. -Henry C. |

Have you considered the Monark loop to pencil glow plug upgrade? MB EU dealers are NLA on front subframe mounts. The rear kit is still available, to your point. Naturally, I'd prefer MB dealer rubber in every instance.

I suppose I could change over to the pencil kind, but then I'd have to rewire things, and it wouldn't be original. Plus, the glow plug light on a 300D is controlled by a sensor that tells you when to start the car. I don't know how the upgrade would affect the operation of this light. I've let others borrow the car before and want everything to work in a straightforward way i.e. no extra switches or heaven forbid that atypical salt shaker system on the 240D. With my present setup, the light goes off in 10-15 seconds and it fires right up, even in the cold. I don't see any reason to re-invent things. Lastly: Are you sure those are the rubber bits around the glass? I'm not referring to the door seals. Henry |

The attachment above contains door seals. For window lining, take a look here
The glow plug upgrade shouldn't require any additional relays or switches. Just use the pull switch, wait 5 seconds and then ignite. I believe there isn't any additional wiring but the earthing wire needs to be disconnected. If you want to stick with the loop style, perhaps Monark makes a replacement?

Was able to source the Front Sub Frame Mount Kit 1153301875 from the MB Classic centre. $300 all in. 5X the price of Febi/ Meyle but everything I'm hearing says its worth it!
Having a real hard time finding the engine strut stabilizer A1152400148. Any leads?

Spoke to Bernick at MB Classic US. My first time speaking to him. He was surprised to learn that any demand existed for the Heater Blower Motor (A1158350207) and the Engine Stabilizer (A1152400148). I explained that zero aftermarket options existed for these parts and that Mercedes should do a limited remanufacture run as there were literally no options out there.
Bernick shared that he would share this information if he saw enough evidence of interest, so if you need any W115 parts that are NLA, please email: bernick.alvarez@mbusa.com

I called MB about throttle linkages for the W115 240D (1974). They are NLA. Mine are functional, but very tired - and one of them has been braced (badly) by a previous owner. I really need to change that one!
I'll email Bernick as well, but in the mean time: does anyone have a source for these? Cheers |

Mercedes has a demand based request tool. Two steps:
1) Click this link: https://partssearch.mercedes-benz-classic.com/parts/demand 2) Enter your part number. For example, enter A1158350207 for the W115 heater blower motor. Hit submit.
