Classic Mercedes W115 W123 Tire Size: 175/80 or 195/ 70 R14
Greetings!
I've recently installed 195/70 R14 Michelin Energy Saver+ on my W123 300d that rides on the 14X6 aluminum "steelie" rims. I plan to install 14X5.5 steelies on my W115 240d and was wondering which tire size would be correct: Primary options here in the EU are 195/70 R14 Michelins or the 175/80 R14 Continental Eco Contact 6. Both are comparably priced and specc'd. Which tire is more appropriate for a W115 diesel saloon when match to the factory equipped 5.5" width? Thanks!

Quote:
If "original" cosmetics are primary, the 175/80 would be the choice. For all other considerations, the 195/70. |

I would go with the 175/80

I was leaning towards that as well. Out of curiosity, why?
