76 mercedes 280c ac blower and temp switch

I replaced a ac temp control switch that came out of a 72 250c . the vacuum pods and switcover valves operate now. only thing is the ac blower doesn't move . before replacing switch jumped the ac blower direct with battery it did turn . wondering if 72 and 76 is different switch or am I missing something else

Look on the firewall slightly off center toward the passenger side for a brown plastic cover about 2" square. There are one or two fuses under it that powered the AC blower on my 76.
