1972 Mercedes 250

Just purchased a 1972 W114 250 Sedan. It has the 2.8 M130 engine which is kind of rare for a sedan. My question is how to replace the No.1 spark plug. It seems the distributor is in the way. Does it have to be removed to get at the spark plug? Or am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated.

spark plug socket with a u-joint built in is the best way. Separate u-joint is the next best thing.
