R110153 0440
I bought a 280SE and the m110 engine arrived disassembled. One of the pieces, which is attached, I can't know which part it belongs to. Can you help me. Thanks!

I'm thinking it is a bracket for the cold start line.

That part number shows it to be a "distributor bracket" but I have to admit I can't figure out where it goes. Perhaps it mounts to the distributor and isolates wires or vac lines near it?
I don't have a service manual for this engine so perhaps someone who does can upload a photo or two? Or perhaps it goes near the fuel distributor? |

Might be referring to a "fuel" distributor instead of an "ignition" distributor.

The "R" of the number (R110 153 04 40) indicates a casting number rather than a part number. It is the bracket for the TDC transmitter, and is affixed to the block at the lower left front corner. Outside of certain checks that were performed at dealerships in the day, it has no functional value. |

Nah, he might be more informed but he's still "Idle".

Bracket for the TDC transmitter
Hi Frank,
After your help, I found the location for the bracket installation, as shown in the attachment. Thanks a lot! Marcos |
