W115 - what does this button do?

Hi everyone,

Perhaps this is a silly question: What does this button (above the brake release) do?

It doesn't seem to do anything as far as I can tell...

Thanks!

Oh! Mine works with the switch on the actual light though (and when the doors open and close). Strange!

No, it's for the REAR dome light, not front.

Ahhh, I never even noticed I had a rear dome light (guess I don't spend a lot of time as a passenger! )

Thanks! Will have to see if it actually works now

Yup. The front lamp is referred to as a "map" or "reading" lamp. It has a three position switch. "On", "Door open" and "Off".
