Tell me this is a ridiculous idea...

Found these today...

They are ridiculously cheap. 15x7, 5x114.3, 5x4.5"

Polish them up and/or redo the centres darker then fit on my W115 with wobble bolts.

Probably a silly idea, or...? The idea has me thinking at least...

The 15" tires won't fit into the spare tire receiver of the /8.

What are "wobble bolts"? Hub pattern is 5 x 112. And I personally think they are pretty unattractive wheels that wouldn't look good on a W115.

There are a lot of attractive, reasonably priced MB wheels that will fit without adaptors, spacers or whatever. I would go with a MB wheel. You could probably get some with decent tires on them. Look at the date code on tires though. Lots of used tires look good but are old.

Thanks for the feedback folks. Yeah, I'll pass - they just came up for next to nothing and it made me think. But my standard wheels are nice enough (and if I need new rubber any time soon I'll be getting the whitewalls that look so good with an old Benz).

These ones just reminded me of the BBS style rims but minus the pricetag!

I saw your thread today and I saw this pic today as well. Check out the front wheel. I know it isn't a 114/115, but it is close.

There is a reason they are being offered at a "next to nothing" price.

Here's a discussion on "wobble bolts:" https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/tyre-alloy-wheel-section/168043-pcd-variation-bolts-aka-wobble-bolts-myth-versus-reality.html

Sorry, I don't think Jeep Cherokee XJ rims would look good on an MB even if they fit. You might want to look into w126 wheels?

I've got some 15" Fittipaldi OZ wheels I'm gonna try on my '79 300d
now that I found spacers that will fit over the front hubs.

Will post pics of the W123 when done

The W126 is! I suggest watching "A Most Violent Year" with Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain if you haven't. I always hated gold/champagne 80s cars and was a reason I didn't miss my old BMW E24 - it was that color. Then I watched "A Most Violent Year" and found a new appreciation. It has two very 80s W126 cars featured prominently, not to mention other brands.
