W108 front end vibration

I recently replaced the subframe mounts and front shocks on my 280SE. I did this because the lateral support bar had broken in two, it also has been replaced. All the tires have been balanced (twice) and the front end aligned. Each of these helped but I still feel a slight vibration in the steering wheel above 65mph. Is this normal? Am I missing something? Motor mounts? The transmission shifter has no vibration and flex disk is in good condition. Any input on next steps would be appreciated.

Did your wheels get balanced with the hubcaps on? Is it possible you have a bent wheel?
An alignment or other suspension issue usually wouldn't cause a vibration (there are instances it can but those are major issues with other more pressing symptoms).

Engine mounts could cause vibration since the engine is on the subframe rocking, but the steering box and shaft is mounted to the frame so I don't see that as your likely culprit. The next place I'd check, if the wheels are straight and were balanced with the hubcaps on, would be the brake rotors and the wheel bearings.

Thank you Tomguy. To be honest in this world of COVID-19 they barely let you in the front door and definitely not into the shop areas. So I do not know if they were balanced with wheel covers on or not. I would not have thought to ask that question either. A bent wheel is plausible, so I will rotate the tires to the back to see if it makes a difference.

Did the tire shop use a balancing machine with "road force" capability? It can make a big difference. https://youtu.be/DQxVAssnbp8

Thanks Tomguy and 801mbz. Bad front driver side tire or bent wheel. Rotated tires one side at a time and vibration is gone after left side rotation. It is off to the tire store for me.
