1972 Mercedes

I am trying to find a back glass, (rear window) for my 1972 280SEL 4.5. Any help as to where to search or contact is appreciated.

Wouldn't it be the same as for any W 108 car?

Where? Many will not want to ship glass. How nice does it have to be good, great or perfect?

I think any 108 chassis would work.

for used glass, the quality of the rear defrost is always suspect. There are two versions of it, one where the rear defrost is a layer of tape on the inside glass and one where the rear defrost is a series of fine wires inside the glass.

Having said that, knowing your location is indeed rather important to finding something local to you. For instance, I think there's one on the east end of long island near ejboyd5.

cth350: Aside from the one in my 280 SE 4.5, I know of two others up and running on the North Fork. What are you saying about finding something on the East End?

craig's list has a '69 parts car listed; a bit nebulous about the specific parts available. -CTH
