w116 climate control
My climate control system worked good with cold AC. I had a slight delay in the fan motor coming on when I first started the car. I decided I would replace all the 4-way and 3-way vacuum hose connections under the hood. I replaced line by line as to not make a mistake. Now my blower motor will not come on. The compressor works just fine. Has anyone ran into this problem before? The Mercedes original replacement 4-way connectors has a white paint mark on one of the ends. I do not know what the white paint mark on the new connectors is for.
Thanks. |

Well it’s possible that if you replaced just the connectors that in doing so you may have caused an old line to crack or if you did not refresh the ends that you are not getting good vacuum Retrace your work. You will find the issue

The 116, and the 123, had an automatic system so complicated it had it's own service manual. I found that almost all my problems were caused by bad switchover valves.
You might need to search Ebay for a used manual or a DVD manual in order to obtain the information you need. The good news is such things are not rather cheap. |

I have the pdf version of the manual. To complicate the problems my system was converted to the upgrade that eliminates the servo unit. The manual vacuum diagram is not that good. I have lines like red/gray and green/black which I do not find listed in the manual.
