1980 280SE thermotine switch

ok looks like I have a faulty thermotime switch. should have continuity to ground from the "w" terminal when car is cold. if an attempt to start the car has been made let the car sit before looking for continuity from "w" terminal to ground.

so what does one do to acquire a replacemet?

just read that MB A0045459124 Thermo Time switch....the switch opens at 50 degrees F. Does the cold start valve operate if the outside temperature is above 60 deg F?

if not then maybe there is not supposed to be continuity between terminal "W" and ground because the switch is open?
