No More Heads Gaskets from Pelican Parts ? Or ?
Seems that Pelican Parts has lost a Supplier " For Head Gaskets for a 250S Mercedes
They fit a few other Car's as well : I don't have the Real story why yet ? Elring Part#180-016-46-20-INT for $64.75 Moreover I see no move to find another supplier for some reason . My guess is that this is a big deal as lots of parts sellers sell the same Gasket and are as well Out Of Stock Part#180-016-46-20-INT Humm So ? anyone know where I can get a Head Gasket ? Car is a 1967 Mercedes 250 S I got emails from Elring Have a Look (1)I have not asked then directly yet why they stopped making the Gasket yet ? (2) I wonder if I well get a answer to such a question ? (3) well Pelican find another supplier ? Now some other Big Parts sellers all stock Old stock parts until they are done I know . I certainly hope this does not happen to Pelican ? One would think that perhaps a large order might start up another run of Gaskets for the Elring Part#180-016-46-20-INT but have no Idea Perhaps Pelican well post a Message here to explain the situation as they see it for us Some replies I got : *********************** Obradovic, Branimir 6:52 AM (1 hour ago) to me Hello again, We do not produce this gasket in our normal production. Maybe some dealers in the world have old stock from this gasket. I offer to you an handmade gasket from our prototyping department not a normal production gasket. You will see, after the dealers sell the last gasket, nobody can buy this gasket for this price. You will find then only our handmade gasket from our prototyping department. Not just this chassis/engine, other head gaskets are hard/impossible to find. Same with other mission critical parts that have disappeared over the last few years. Stock up now on everything you think you might need in the future.

I now wonder about rings and bearings humm Looks like you can get parts but only at a huge cost like more then the car cost lol so this place is worthless for things like a part they don't stock . They well not search out a new source then ?. Kind of like rock auto now sold until Out then gone |

Ya Great News
I have been so busy but shall call the Classic Center next week and ask about the Price . Pelican sells that same gasket ($64) they told me but gets it from some Wholesaler Vender not the manufacture so I expect the Classic Center price may be higher not sure. As well most likely as there have been none for awhile that may invite a price change and nothing most often go's down like my tax's I well ask them for a discount but won't hold my breath Picked up another 68 250S ( My second ) and guess what it needs a Head Gasket Is dirty in these Pic's but the Paint is Very good wood work not bad at all easy to refinish all but 2 window frames they well require some work or replacement. Its loaded LOL all but a sunroof , Factory AC /PW/PS/Becker still their Good Dash ! & Fair steering wheel Perhaps I well sell one as I already have a 67 but as one is a Manual and one a Auto trans give me an excuse now does it not lol |

I like that 250s. Ive always wanted a w108, never been able to find one at the right time. Now with prices going up on most of them its out the window. Those t-rusty fintails stay cheap though lol. Dont understand the price difference.
I could see the classic center selling head gaskets for 125-150 for a limited production run.

The Finny come and Go
I was buying some 250 S Parts and Cars and I passed on 2 Finny's
Photo of the Wife peeking inside The trunk was loaded with Ton's of Carbs and Factory AC Stuff it seemed I could have bought that car for $250 . $300 and perhaps should have . Had a lot of good features like Power steering . All the trim was in the trunk taillights and such I would like a Wagon however for sure |
