1960s 250S Dash Pad Removal

Found a 1960s 250S with one piece clean damage free upper dash pad. If anyone can tell me the best way to remove it without damaging it I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

there are tons of little fiddly bits holding that in. Start by removing all trim rings around switches, remove switches, remove radio, remove dash pod and trim pieces around A pillars . If there are wood or plastic surrounds , remove all of those. get up under dash in both driver and passenger footwell and remove any fasteners you can see, remove as much wood trim that you can. Then start to move the dash and find all of the fasteners that are not apparent to the eye. There will be some up by the front window and A pillars . When free , it is better if the steering wheel is off so as not to damage the piece when removing
It is a tedious process, Mercedes didnt want it to rattle or move ! Good luck

Are screws near the Lower inside wood trim that run's at bottom of Windshield . You need to remove that Wood Trim to get to them . Most remove the Windshield to get to them.
You need to be careful removing that wood trim or it will brake . Its not all that hard to do really . Post some photos of the dash you found ( Click reply to see attachments )

I removed mine and replaced without removing front windshield would have been easier, granted , but removing front windscreen is a nightmare
