W111 230s engine swap from 1978 280se

Hi guys, new member here. I'm in the process of buying a donor car to do a m110 swap. I just wanted to make sure if there is anything else that I might need? My engine is just a bit tired and has been giving me overheating issue since i've had it. I've found a 280se for a decent price but just want to be sure that I can get it done with minimal issues.

Thanks guys.

welcome. There's a similar thread in history from a few years ago.
From memory, you've got different...
- engine mounts & arms
- possible steering conflicts
- Exhaust down pipes
- transmission to driveshaft coupling
- basic engine wiring
- air cleaner

Nothing insurmountable. Keep the donor car around as long as you can though.

PS. An M130 kind of 280se would be a better swap if you could find one. -CTH

Thanks for the reply, I guess I'll keep searching then. I'm having trouble finding a decent running w108 280se in Melbourne at the moment. If anyone knows of one I'd be interested in having a look. I. Happy to travel interstate if needed.
