MBZ Parts crowdfunding, yay/nay?

I'm seeing talk and promotion of a funding venture for MBZ Parts on the West Coast, but nothing solid is promised back to those that contribute. Isn't this the business previously knows as Reinvent the wheel? Seems like something that could help all of us if it comes to fruition, but also something potentially shady. Thoughts?

Not sure, those guys got banned from here for posting their astronomically priced products from their eBay parts business. I think one was a used bumper for $15,000. The website had some interesting stuff, but I was turned off by the absurd pricing. They seem like scammers from my view.

Not my experience with them. Decent prices, good selection and good customer service. I had them refinish the wood from my 6.9 and it came back excellent.

In all such ventures, you have to trust the principles involved and the business plan.

Post

I bought a new Mercedes part from them and later discovered they'd charged me twice the dealer retail cost and added shipping charges on top .

I used to run a junkyard and I never gouged like this .

Shame for destroying good running vehicles too, that's very short sighted .

so I think you have multiple opinions now about how important it is to count your fingers after a handshake. In short, don't. -CTH
