Febi or Mercedes Benz original oil pan

I am trying to decide if I should get a replacement oil pan by Febi or Original Mercedes Benz. Price difference is 3 times higher for the original. Anyone have experience with knowing quality of the Febi product?

My car: 1971 280se inline 6 cyl

If the car is REALLY nice and you can afford it, get the OE MBZ. If it is a driver get the Febi.

Good luck!!!

Febi is likely the OEM supplier, essentially it might not come in an MB box. Is the box worth the price?

A stamped sheet metal oil pan is a stamped sheet metal oil pan no matter whose name is on the part.

If you are looking for the metal oil pan that is easy to remove then go with the Febi.

If you have one of those oil pans that is truly the entire under the engine oil pan then check used for a crankcase.

thank you for the replies. It's not at all that it has to have the MB logo or box on it, I was asking if Febi is close to quality of original as it is 1/3 the price. I noticed that the product weight for both is 3.3 lbs. so basically the same weight.
Now as far as quality is concern, that's where my question comes in

If the only concern is quality i.e., no star is ok then Febi would be fine. They may even be identical.

Good luck!!!

That was the point of my answer: Buy the MB one, you are likely to receive a pan made by Febi Bilstein in a MB box. Febi Bilstein is an OEM supplier to MB for many parts and has been for many, many decades.
