70's Window Channel / Window Felt

Hi, I have a '71 280SE I'm restoring —*it looks like Mercedes stopped making the window channel from this era, link to the product Pelican used to sell: https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/0009852930.htm?pn=000-985-29-30-MBZ&SVSVSI=3248&DID=18307

Does anyone know where to find some or can you recommend some alternative replacements?

Also — I've heard it is a real pain-in-the-arse to replace, does anyone have a good how-to article / resource?

Much appreciated.

This guys is selling the channel
https://www.ebay.com/itm/144107666501?epid=1923023582&hash=item218d7c7c45:gZEAAOSw8bZg6FIn

aftermarket:

and more:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=w108+window+channel&_sacat=0

In general to replace:
remove door card
roll window down
loosen window tracks
pull out old channel and insert new

*to remove window glass you usually have to remove the channel. So you shouldn't have to remove the glass, just make sure the guide are loose enough to work the new channel down into them.

IF the above isnt enough you may have to remove the motor and arm attached to the glass so that the window has more room to move. You may also have to remove the moulding at the top of the door and the 2 window felts.

Sorry that above isnt exact, I've taken a lot of doors apart but never to just replace the channels.

Listing says $40 per foot. since it takes ~4-5' per window that's pretty

expensive.
