Drain Oil Cooler During Oil Change?

I am changing the oil on my 1971 250C.
Is it ok to pull the oil line at the radiator
to drain the oil in the cooler also?
The 280 apparently has a drain on the cooler,
my 250 does not.
Thanks..

FYI: Oil coolers on gas and diesel cars are separate narrow oil to air radiator that sit along side the radiator. They have a drain plug on the bottom. The 250SE and, I assume others, have small oil to water cooler that sits below the injection pump.

I think most all auto transmission cars have AFT to water cooler that is just a pipe in the bottom of the radiator - like your car.

I’ve owned a 240D in both chassis version and neither had a drain plug for the cooler nor would it need one. That said, including my spare I’ve only owned 3 oil coolers.
