W123 worn steering gear box
My 84 300d steering box is worn
Found a 1989 w126 in bone yard. Im not big on originality if it's an upgrade. The w126 benz is a 300 gasser Will the steering gear box fit |

No, the w126 boxes will not fit a w123.
No, don't pay attention to the numbers on the box, they are simply the part numbers of the casing and caps. You'll have to find another w123 box, preferably from a w123 post 1982 (with internal stops).

no and most all older ones have issues ... they can be rebuilt but it is a tedious process.
is it a worn box or worn components attached to the box? Often the steering knuckle is bad can give you the impression the box is bad
