Smile W 108 Distributor Hot Positive Post terminal insulator

Any One Know where to get the "Positive Post terminal insulator" that go's through the Distributor Body that the Point's Power wire attaches to ?
Outside the Distributor the Hot + wire and Condenser attaches to the Post :
A Round Fiber washer shields the Positive Post from the Metal Distributor body:
Is a Round Fiber Shoulder Washer with a Small Hole in it for the Power post to pass through
Also has a flat Fiber Washer for inside and a Larger Fiber Washer for outside the Distributor that fits a recess in the Distributor , they all have a hole in the center for the Power post to go through.

Any One know the part Number of this Insulation kit or at least the One that go's through the Distributor Body?

How about a Workaround ? has some other still available Distributor Fiber washer work ?

I expect I may have to make one from something ? once you tighten the

Wires Up a few times the fiber Insulation becomes worn damaged Etc.

Can't seem to find these simple Fiber washer's anywhere Links or ? anyone

Hardware stores often have nylon sleeves in various diameters and wall thickness. Maybe something like that, and you could drill it out as needed, cut to length, cut slightly proud, etc.?

Or clear vinyl tubing? Drip irrigation tubing? A vinyl thread protector cap? A rubber grommet designed to expand out over the perimeter of an opening....if you can't find one that small, maybe you could cut a section out of a small one, and it would wrap around the diameter you're working with, and still complete a circular shape?

Hi Todd:

Yes I thought of that sort of approach (Making up my own "Insulation Sleeves " so to speak as you suggested )

The problem doing that that is tricky Because That Sleeve / Bushing has to be fairly Solid Material because On the "Inside" the Point's hot wire lead attaches to the Positive Post
On the "Outside" the Condenser wire and the Hot Wire from Coil attaches to the Positive Post
Then the Nuts / Metal Washers with the Flat "Fiber Washers" underneath Also attach

( inside the Distributor and Outside the Distributor must all be Tightened down Nice and Tight or it will all come loose.)
Point Being :

That the Insulation Bushing going through the Distributor if not fairly solid will simply crush , fall apart and crumble away very easily if you get my drift .
So the Ideal solution is to find a perhaps " Electoral Usage Fiber Type Material that is small enough with a hole in it to use .

Note : Most Likely Mercedes Has them and if you have a part # you can order them perhaps , I don't have the Part # / Some of those Insulator Bushings are a Shoulder Type larger on inside so they don't slide through
the Hole all the way only up to the Shoulder.

Anyone have the Part Number by Chance ?

Thanks in advance if Known

The part you want may be in this kit:

or call these people, they may have just that part:

Instead of tightening things down so much that you crush stuff, maybe a solution would be to use nylock or similar nuts, and simply snug them up. A dot of red or blue loctite would also be a friendly solution.

I bought some Poly Tubing Yesterday that is Very Hard Material from a Hardware store along with some Just about exactly the right size Fiber Washers: I brought a 048 Distributor body with me ( 66 /67 Yr Model )
and the Poly Tubing fits Very tight through the Dist Body for the Positive Post. As Well as the Fiber washers fit into the recess on the Outside of the Dist Body , was about $ 2.50
I Think I may Glue on the inside edge ( Super Glue ?) of the Fiber Washer to the Poly Tubing ( sold by the Foot) then with the Positive Post installed
feed it through the Dist/ Body and with the outside Fiber washer in place simply tighten it all down .. Luck would have it this Hardware store has a great supply of such things . ( for my $2.50 I have enough for about 5 Distributors perhaps more . )

Very cool! I love wandering through all the bins at my local Ace Hardware store. Tons of cool little things that can be used to do jobs like this, and salvage a situation that's either non-repairable, would take weeks to get the parts, or even perform an upgrade or mod that actually makes the component better/more reliable. It's saved me quite a number of times.
