Parroted mercedes
a local car show featured a vintage 1947 Daimler convertable with a parot on the grille. Is this Daimler a different bird from an MB i.e., not Daimler-chrysler genealogy.

Yeah, the English Daimler was a separate
marque and company, an English one, with roots in very early motoring. Jaguar (and now I guess, Ford) controlled the company since the '50s, and recent Daimlers have been almost identical to Jaguars except for the radiator grille. The "scolloped" grille shell is a design touchstone.
The British Daimler was always a favorite of the Royal Family. Interesting radiator "mascot." Many of the top jewelers and silversmiths carried lines of these ornaments. |
