My estimate is around $10-15k, depending on condition. These 450s hold their value well and are near their low point. Prices should climb from here, if all goes well in the used Mercedes arena. Reason I say this, is they are near 30 years old, and have kept their value fairly well. These cars also sell better in the nicer climes like your area. Be wary of shotty rust repair, espcially with the mid 70's SLs. Also be careful of early emissions equiment and the like. The owner of such a car would want to get their money back for the new paint, wheels, interior and relatively low milage motor.

I wouldn't pay that much for an early 107. For $10 to $15k you can buy a nice 380Sl and possibly a 560SL. I would opt for a nice 380Sl with moderate miles on it. The all aluminum engine gives you more power and far better fuel mileage than the 13 miles per gallon on the 450Sl. Also the heating system has been improved. If one of the heater control flaps goes out on an early SL, you have to change the heater box for a bunch of bucks. Just my opinion. There are plenty of 380SLs around. You just have to look.

There are some in the up to $14,000 range but you see the same ones month after month.

$10,500.00 1974 MERCEDES BENZ 450SL,1974 450SL navy blue. 2 tops, new muffler, tires & cloth top, 125,000 miles, asking $10,500. runs very well, condition very good

1974 MERCEDES BENZ 450SL, Beautiful Champagne paint with Choclate soft top (both hard top and soft top are included). This is a hard to find Euoropean model, which registers kilometers instead of miles on the odometer. This car has only 79,000 original miles. All maintenance records are included. Original carpet seat covers and trunk mat $7,900

1974 MERCEDES BENZ 450SL, , Cocoa w/new tan inrior, 77K original miles, fully serviced, both tops, $9850 or best offer, Interesting trades considered,

1974 MERCEDES BENZ 450SL, ROADSTER - 86000 miles, V8 gas, both tops, good condition, clean, air conditioning, power steering, power windows, power brakes, have cart for hardtop $12000
