80's coupe history question...

Am I right in thinking there was no gasoline powered coupe between 1981 (280CE) until 1988 (300CE)?

I think they made Diesel coupes, 300CD and 300CD Turbo on the W123 chassis in those years, but I'm not sure about the gasoline powered.

If I'd known then what I know now...

Hell, I'd probably still have done it anyways.

And also, you're only thinking about the US market.

...and do you count the SLC? Or do the rear windows need to go down to qualify as a coupe?

Jag No.1 (1970 Series II Coupe) was sold 10 years ago to make way for...

Jag No.2 (1964 Series I Coupe with the sweet 3.8l engine.) which was sold 5 years ago to pay for tuition and living expenses when I went back to school. It was bought by someone living in Holland for racing purposes. Cried when I saw it in the shipping crate ready to go overseas.

Someday, if I have a zillion dollars, I'll have another one, and I'll have a fully equipped mechanic bay in my multi-car garage. And a fully equipped mechanic to go with it.

Yeah, that's it.

So, were there gasoline powered W123 Coupes in Europe from 1983-1985?

I could swear I've seen one, but I can't remember where.

My apologies to the SLC owners. I was thinking only of the coupes based on sedan chassis. Shame on me.
