I kinda feel bad

Hey all, on my 4.5 everything is in purrrrrrrrrrrfict condition, still looks brand new used. Engine bay a little dirty, rear main seal leaks, rear diff leaks a little, but who cares it's not a show car.

Over the years I just keep it up to standard, replacing anything that it needs, the oil is like honey, the interior is clean, the paint is as nice as my 300CE.

I have neglected to shine any interior stuff for over 10 years, still looks great.

I forget how old this car is sometimes, but I guess that goes with getting older. She lives in the garage, and goes out every few months or so just to streach her legs.

Sometimes people ask to see the old car, so I show them, start it up, go for a ride, I have to rebember again, that this is a 30 year old car, looks like new to me, but what do I know?

I have posted some crummy pictures of Gina on the board, and while I haven't been hooted off the board yet, I think folks enjoy seeing other folks cars.

Yeah, I know -- only the very young, who think my 280 SE is a Royce, and the one friend I have who had one (sold it as too expensive to maintain, then regretted it) really appreciate my W108. Mine's pretty rough from neglect -- seat covers in rags, need front subframe bushings, left exhaust manifold split so it roars, etc.

Still prefer it to anything but the 300D!

They truely don't make them like the used to.

Feeling Blue?
Doctor prescribed 4.5 medicine 2-3 times per week!!!
Why so few rides? Keepin' it safe from that So Cal Winter?
Or is it the insanity of the traffic that keeps it indoors?
I can understand that.

I think I know what you mean though. These beauties are gettin' old and I wish I could see more of them cruising around on the roads but I don't. Makes me worry about finding parts as I plan to be driving them for a long time.
Heck, the distributors already cost 800 bucks.
Hey, now I feel blue

Yike's!! $800.00 !!!!!!!

I keep forgetting how much parts cost, whenI worked in auto parts long ago, starters and alternators were $35.00, and a gasket set was $25.00. What a happy place.

I will post some more pics after my vacation.

This old 108 is my Sunday Car, about every 5th Sunday....lOL

Hey Peter, get new tires yet?

Nope. Figure it's best to do the front bushings and replace the upper right trunion first, then get tires and an alignment all at once.

This is, of course, waiting for my .......brother to get the damned 300D out of the garage -- he's always talking about how much he wants to get it going, but never works on the bloody thing.... been in there two years now.
