Where is neutral start switch? W114--1971 250

Car won't turn over, no click from starter. Battery OK...

The switch is on the transmission around the operating lever. Held on by three screws, but there are two different ones, not interchangeable. One is Bakelite or something similar, the other is metal. Make sure you get ther correct one.

Usually the Park position goes before the Neutral position, and it is also possible that the attaching screw is loose, so that it isn't moving the switch, and the little sheet metal fork that rotates the switch can also break off. All this can be checked easily.

One last note -- if the bushing on the tranny lever is missing, it may be diffucult to get the transmission all the way into Park, so that the switch is working, but not engaged.
