220S Parts

Was at a bone yard today and had a 220S on a tow truck. Sorry don't know what year it is as the plates have been taken off. If anyone needs any of the parts let me know. Has the dual Solex carbs installed.

Dual solex should place it at '63 or before, but am not certain when.... really early 220S also included manually operated air duct in engine compartment that would draw heater air off the engine.

Interchangeable snatch-goodies on very early models include chrome (instead of plastic) heater levers..... and assorted wood trim from door panels and along windows..... earlier models had more wood than did later models.

If the car has them, those chrome heater levers are especially desirable.... go get 'em and they will move like hotcakes to anyone here with later model (plastic lever) 220S.

Dammit am homesick for the 220S's I've owned in the past.

Was the chrome on the fins in good shape?
I need the cast chrome fin extensions at the back edge of the rear doors and the cast trim at the end of the fins. I also need good sun visors.
Thanks.

Happy Motoring, Mark

Will take another look at it tomorrow. Do remember the interior wood was checker boarded. But think it could be restorable as it looks like it is the varnish that is cracked. Will pull off the visors for you if they are in good shape. Don’t remember the chrome piece on the fins, but will look again. It does have an aftermarket A/C unit in it. Looks pretty strange under the dash!

Is this a finback or a ponton 220S?

No pontoon shape at all. Funny, in Costa Rica they nicknamed the Ponton, Chanchito (little pig).

It is a fin back.
