280SE sold
Gentlemen,
Well, I am sad to say that my Dark Green 280SE will be leaving me shortly. She has found a happy new home with fellow Mercedesshop member Peter Luciano in Massachusetts. Fear not though, I do still have two vintage MBs left in the stable, the 450SL and the 6.9. With the sale of the 280SE, the 6.9 will once again prowl the highways, looking for BMWs and other fine "cuisine" to gobble up!

Roger,
I was glad to have been of service to you on the 6.3. Sounds like you have a lot on your hands now! If the bodywork becomes too overwhelming, you are certainly welcome to send it to my workshop where we will be glad to restore it for you. Or if you find a donor W113 SL, do a 6.3 conversion into it. That would make for one amazing sled! A friend and fellow MB shop owner and I talked about doing the same conversion to the 1970 280SL I once had. He had the engine, I had the car. Neither of us had the time! Good luck with the car!

Aaron:
Congrats on the sale. I got the 6.3 home and am not quite sure what to do first, perhaps gasoline and a torch? Sort of overwhelming, although mostly paint and body work. My friend took it to his shop, ran it out of fuel and we can't get the darned thing to restart, pumps runnning, etc. Anyway, looks like we've both got adventures ahead. Thanks for your kindness recently. Roger |

Shark, if it was me I'd slightly loosen the injectors then turn the key until gasoline pissed from the loosened injectors. When this happens you can tighten the injectors, restart the car and drive it.
Running completely out of fuel is murder on engine.... can also push sludge and crap into fuel system from bottom of tank - better install new fuel filters too. |
