My frontend is still jacked up

Okay.. every since I installed need droplinks from the stabilzer bar my car is riding high int he front.. I had been thinking it was my rear springs and the problem is emphasized when I have a payload in the trunk but the last thing I did before I notice this new profile was puttitng in the drop links? I don't see how I could have installed the droplinks incorrectly unless they are in fact the incorrect ones and are too long or too short and are forcing the front end to popup in the air.

Any thoughts on this?

I'm still planning to install new springs in the rear when I can find a good deal on them.

If I were a contestant on Fear Factor they could chalenge me install the front ones I have ordered ;-)

I don't know this car, but in general you shouldn't tighten suspension bolts with the car in the air. Final tightening should be done with the car's weight on the wheels. This avoids 'preloading' the suspension, which is what your problem sounds like.

Hope this helps, sorry if I'm way out.

hmm... I'll try taking the drop links off and putting back in with the car on the ground.. I don't remember if I had it up stands when I installed them or not.

Neither... it's a W114 which I guess is basically the same as the 115 steering wise.

No way you could have done anything to the suspension height by changing the sway bar links then.

Are you sure the front is high rather than the back low? I can measure my brother's 300D if you want to see how his sits.

I still have this 71 250 chassis and it does not sit this high in the front.

What condition are your front subframe mounts in? If bad, they lower the body while leaving the suspention OK. The parts car may be sitting rather low.

A stabilizer bar shouldn't be putting any load on the suspension when it's sitting. The lengths of the links, within reason, isn't relevant. The bar only functions when you go round a corner as it helps to transfer load from the outside wheel to the inside wheel to reduce roll. The bar must be free to rotate though as it moves equally on both sides when both front wheels go up or down together. The only way it could be loading the suspension is if the bar can't rotate in its rubber mounts, take the links of and see if it can rotate.
Otherwise have you driven the car much, it may settle after some use.

GMASK
Try the rear Sub-Frame Mounts and the rear diff mount. They fail and the rear height drops as much as 2 inches This happend on mine and after repalcement the height was restored.
