Unhappy 4.5 fuel filter location

My 108 4.5 is on its way from CA- needs a fuel filter change in Tennessee, trying to explain to my buddy where it is located under the hood. Please help!

It's hidden under a splash guard behind the left rear tire (just forward of the axle).

thanks

He's under the car right now- just got off the phone with him. Any special things under there that he should be wary of screwing up? I imagine it is pretty straightforward.

The only problem I had with mine was the wasp's nest right next to the filter.....car hadn't been driven in a couple years.

Very easy, also obvious.

Talking update

Thanks for the help- he got it swapped out, and made it from TN to VA with no problem. The car is now in my possession, and boy am I happy with it! 2600 miles, $400 in petrol, only a partially clogged fuel filter was the only slight hiccup over the whole trip. I am very impressed. Drove her to work this morning- drives like a dream. That 4.5 is very addicting...

Cheers,

JAS

You're right on about addicting -- I keep leaning mine out and it keeps running better and better, but it STILL eats gas something terrible, and I still keep driving it, prefer it even over the 300D!
