Miss Daisy's adventures at 'Muddy Hole Farm'

I live in a neighborhood, the realtors call "Mount Vernon Woods' because it was once one of George Washington's outer farmlands.
However, in pre-yuppie days this place was known as 'Muddy Hole Farm'. Last week I had to go out of town suddenly but had a customer leaving a car for repair while I was away, so I moved Miss Daisy to my 'overflow parking' in the backyard and quickly found the 'Muddy Hole' after my wheels sank down to their hubcaps.
13 inch Pirellis do NOT make good off-road tires! I figured the mud would dry up by the time I got back yesterday. WRONG! With two more days of rain in the local forcast, I feared Miss Daisy might soon disappear completely, like the car Anthony Perkins pushed into the swamp in 'Psycho"! So I went to try the Mercedes jack on a small board so I could get a bigger board under my rear wheel. (car was sunk too low to get my scissors jack under) The rusted jacking socket came off in my hand! Thankfully, my bumper mounts were in better shape than my jack sockets so, this morning, I finally got pulled out with my brothers Toyota 4-Runner.
And, to top it all off, my customer never showed up anyway!

Happy Motoring, Mark

Give me a call next time...

Just live up the road in Bethesda.

In Baltimore the neighborhood around the new stadia was re-christened "Ridgely's Delight" when the area became semi-gentrified maybe 20 years ago. When they used to drive livestock through the streets to the slaughterhouse the area was known as "Pigtown."

Remember that scene in the movie "The Four Seasons" with Alan Alda (early 80's)? They drive that beautiful blue 123 sedan out onto the frozen lake in a panic to save their friend that fell through the ice and what's his name screams "My Mercedes"! over and over as it breaks through and plunges into the water.

Yeah, that was Jack Weston. In that scene, he also screams "It sank like a stone! You should've let me drown!" When one of his friends suggested the car could be salvaged,
Jack cries "What the hell am I going to do with a rusty Mercedes!"
