RagTop Troubles

I am looking for recommendations for a quality upholsterer to replace my windows in my 1978 450 SL. My top is in excellent shape, but the windows aren’t, so I don’t want to have to replace the entire soft top. Living in a small town, there isn’t anybody I would trust with the job (they wanted to sew the new window in over the old, and then cut out the old). I don’t mind sending the top out, so location isn’t a problem.

Thanks,
Don Solomon

There is a process on the CD for replacing the plastic windows in the top. I don't see how it would work if you sent it out because the top needs to be in a car to do it and not many installers have a 107 sitting around. If you email me, I will send you the CD chapter and maybe that will help your local guys.

Would the procedures on this CD cover the replacement of a plastic rear window on other convertible models, such as a 220SEb Cabriolet? If so, I would also like to obtain a copy. Let me know if that is possible and its cost. Thanks,
