And they all have leather seats!
Okay it's not specifically about diesels but as most of the cars I've been looking at on-line on e-bay etc are diesels I guess I can post this small gripe here as much as anywhere. Isn't it amazing how every Mercedes that ever left the factory since the 50's was equipped with leather seats? At least if you listen to the people selling them. Even when you can see plainly that they are MB-Tex. I've owned both and have never been able to understand the mental state of the people who think they can push Tex seats as leather on potential customers. Do these twits really think people cant tell the difference? Or not even know the difference themselves?

No need to apologise. We have vintage diesels here too.
Maybe I'm being charitable, but I think some people believe that every Mercedes that doesn't have cloth seats HAS to have leather or, they're clueless and can't tell the difference. Just like those Ebay peddlers that advertise '60s Benzes with a V6 engine or a 220S with a V8! I've even heard some refer to Mercedes dashboards as being 'imitation wood'! Happy Motoring, Mark

I would suspect that most people not really familiar with MB will assume that MBTex is leather -- I did until I learned to tell the difference, and just to look, it's usually only the seat cover style that determines which is which -- the leather looks exactly like MBTex, or vise versa. Can't tell the diff unless you touch it.
