rim offset
I am gonna put some larger rims on my 280sel 4.5 and wanted to know what offset i should get or is there another newer mbz that i can get them off of or for reference. do they all have the same bolt pattern ... Thanx Aaron

Hello,
You can use the wheels from the W126 chassis(280SE-560SEL), but DO NOT use wheels from any of the strut front suspension cars, eg: W201(190E), W124 (200-300E) or R129 (SL), newer chassis like the E-class etc are a no no as well. IIRC the offset you are looking for is 30mm. Have a good week.

Wrong Offset- try 25
You need less offest than that.
S- class use a 25 mm, not 30. You could use late model rims too, but you'll need spacers and longer bolts. Closest match is a 129 Chassis SL, with an offset of 34. Buy H&R 10mm spacers and you're set. |
