Arrrgh!! Exhibition of speed ticket.
Was sitting at a stoplight when a guy in a BMW 540i pulled up next to me. Here is the conversation:
HIM: "6.3! Wow haven't seen one of those in years! Those are awesome!" ME: "Friendly drag?" (in a kind of joking way) HIM: "Sure!" So we square off, gear selector of the 6.3 in "2" position (gives a first gear start) . Immediately blow him away off the line. I'm keeping just enough edge in front when a cop sees us and u-turns. Pulls us both over, cites each of us for "exhibition of speed". $70 ticket. Rats. Oh well, the 540i driver and I still got a kick out of the drag race. He turned off at the next main road and gave me an approving nod. I guess BMW drivers aren't so bad after all.

As Rumpole of the Bailey says, "Never plead guilty!"
Go to court and give some explanation or other. It should be good for dismissal after driving school. WTF is "exhibition of speed"? I'm still envious!

You know, in all the years I drove my '64 190 diesel, I never had to worry about drag racing.
To time it from zero to sixty you need a calender. That old slushy automatic trans.... Lemme see now...4000 pounds....60 horse power..... Poer to weight ratio .... You know I would like to try out your hot rod that would be a new thing for me, speeding in a Mercedes. Sounds like fun! Frame that ticket Aaron! |

Hello Aaron,
The car is the devil reincarnated, already got you into trouble. It cannot be good for your future. Please ship FOB to Port Klang, Malaysia. I already have W116 450SEL to keep it company in dark warehouse in secluded industrial area.

Aaron, you should thank your lucky stars that you got off so cheap. My last ticket was over $300.

That's pretty good performance from a 6.3. I've driven heavier 740iL's (4.4 liter) and they do a pretty good job of getting out of their own way when you floor it from a stop. That extra 1.9 liters does a lot for torque production.

Ohio police.... legendary enforcers, also one of the last states to have 55mph speed limit on interstates. Best state of all is Montana, where they have no speed limits, signs read: "Speed-Limit.... Reasonable and Prudent."
Is that a radar detector/ or scrambler stuck to the windshield? Let me guess, a Rocky Mountain Radar/Laser Scrambler that covers all frequencies known as the "Phantom II". Otherwise there ought to be unwritten rule in racing that loser pays all fines. Cop cant bust you for speeding if he's traveling in opposite direction...... "appearance of speeding" might be anything from loud muffler to winding out the gears at legal speed. |

The thing in the window is a Valentine One radar detector. The cop wasn't running radar but I am willing to bet he heard both of our engines wound out at 40mph!! We both left some honkin' rubber trails to boot!

Aaron, pay the $2. It appears that your misdeeds were caught on a traffic camera:
